C3 is the first non-governmental entity to ever be invited by Oak Ridge National
Laboratory to open a branch office on the Lab's main campus. Dr. Arvid Pasto, former director of ORNL's High Temperature Materials Laboratory, will coordinate C3’s research partnerships with all national laboratories from the Oak Ridge facility.

C3 will move into its Oak Ridge office in the spring 2008.

C3 will be the “anchor tenant” at ORNL's new "Nano Commercialization Center," occupying about 10,000 square feet of lab and office space in the Technology Transfer Campus.

C3/Oak Ridge has three main functions:

  • Characterization: Facilitate user projects and “Work for Others” projects at ORNL and other federal facilities.

  • Concept Development and Testing: Develop and maintain awareness of potential applications for C3 technologies.

  • Commercialization Assistance: Introduce C3 technologies into the marketplace.
